Been a few years since I listened to DI (as we like to call it). Digitally Imported is a website that streams audio feeds. They started with a “trance” feed, but soon after they gained popularity 3 or 4 years ago, they began expanding their feed lineup to include classical music feeds and others as […]

Ok, I just created a wedding category here so that I can keep some of you up to date on what is going on. Danielle and I were supposed to spend a considerable amount of time this week, in Palm Desert, planning the wedding. Of course we have not decided on a place, time […]

So, I have had my Nokia 6620 Smartphone for about a month now and I have a few more observations. First, I want to point out that I am connected to the internet via my 6620 and a Bluetooth connection. That in and of itself is pretty cool. The 6620 is a […]

Using your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone as an internet gateway is really easy….if you know how to set it up. Funny thing is that Cingular does not tell you how to use the MediaNet unlimited account I have as an internet gateway, I had to search for an hour or so online to get it […]

Well, I am down in Palm Desert, La Quinta actually, and I am connected to the internet via my Nokia 6620 mobile phone which is talking to my laptop via a wireless Bluetooth connection which is using Cingular Wireless’ MediaNet WAP internet package. For $24.99 a month I get unlimited internet access on my mobile […]

With all of this thought on Media Center and the future of the “Home Media PC” I was thinking that content is truly going to be king in the near future. In the music industry, the money has always been in publishing, not that many people know that. The song and music writers […]

After my main computer suffered a horrendous crash in October I was finally able to recover the lost data on those drives. Yay. Ok, enough celebration. I installed the new 2003 Microsoft Office on the new machine and was kind of excited to check out the new Outlook. Outlook is a contact management tool […]

Well, I guess you know the unsolicited email problem is truly a problem, when the USPS decides that they are going to get into the act as well. It is pretty funny if you think about it. The US Postal Service has these silly laws, well I guess the federal government does, about sending things […]

I knew that if I searched long enough, I would find a page where a technical person would do a write up on connecting your mobile phone to the Cingular wireless data networks as well as talk in detail about the technologies. I found that page here. I still can’t seem to get the […]

If you don’t have a bluetooth mobile phone and you use Outlook for your contact and calendar management….you are missing out. I just got my bluetooth adapter for my computer so that I can connect to my cell phone wirelessly and use it as a modem as well. But, the coolest thing is the […]

Well, I switched us over from DSL to cable internet service this past week and right after I got it installed I noticed something online saying that Comcast would be upgrading service in the next couple of weeks. Last night I was having trouble with intermittent service and I remembered what I had read. […]

Well, just like everything else, DVD43 Free has figured out how to remove the copy protection on DVDs with their software. I have not installed this software, but wanted to “bookmark” it and place it here as a resource for the Home Media PC project.

Ok, so as I delve further and further into this technology, I am realizing that I will be building myself a new media center computer. Why would I want to do this? Simple, the benefits are too great not to. With the right computer hardware and software, a media center pc can control […]

I was just watching this program called “Trucks” which is one of my favorites because the guy who hosts the show is an amazing fabricator and also has a couple of screws loose. They just profiled a place in Memphis, Tennessee called Memphis Equipment. This place has just about every part you can […]

Ok, so after having the Nokia 6620 for a few days, I have realized a few things that you may find interesting. First of all, the layout on the 6620 is a bit awkward. Holding it in my hand (on the larger side if you don’t know me), the dialing buttons and joystick are positioned […]

As many of you know, I just purchased a Nokia 6620 smartphone mainly because of it’s bluetooth capabilities. One of the first add-ons I will be purchasing for our cars is a bluetooth handsfree car kit so that there will be no need to hold the phone to our ears when in the car. […]

As many of you know I have become completely enfatuated with Bluetooth and the latest happenings in the wireless technology world lately. At first I was under the assumption that any Bluetooth device will work with any other Bluetooth device. This however, is unfortunately not true. Bluetooth devices use Profiles such as the Human […]

I spend about 20 minutes on the phone yesterday explaining how I think the Car PC, Bluetooth and G3 mobile networks are going to create a whole new marketplace for tech products. Apparently, the people I was speaking with did not share my excitement or point of view. One however appears to see the […]
