Nokia 6620 Review Part 3

So, I have had my Nokia 6620 Smartphone for about a month now and I have a few more observations. First, I want to point out that I am connected to the internet via my 6620 and a Bluetooth connection. That in and of itself is pretty cool. The 6620 is a great phone, but there are some things I do not like about it. The shape of the phone is not a good design. It is short and fat and does not fit into my hand well when trying to do anything other than look at the screen. Dialing numbers (number keys are super tiny and located very low on the phone) is a hassle, necessitating two hands at times. Taking a picture requires two hands sometimes as well. I am not a big picture phone taker, but this is something I have noticed. The Bluetooth receiver will not stay on sometimes and requires me to reboot the phone and then it works. Sounds like a software issue, but it is annoying. The phone seems pretty durable though as it has suffered about three pretty good drops so far (due to the awkward shape and size of the phone) and it has not skipped a beat.

Now for the things that I do like. The phone gets very good reception usually outperforming everyone else’s phone. The joystick is a great intuitive way to navigate the many phone features and making the “standby” buttons and joystick directions programmable to any function on the phoone is great. I have 6 buttons essentially that I can “preset” with commonly used functions. I really like that. The screen on this phone is great and has silly resolution for a phone. I think it has better resolution than my first two laptops. I have downloaded an ftp client and it works great. How many people you know that can ftp into someone’s machine and download music or whatever they need (I have a 128MB memory card in this thing).

More later. Danielle is going to kill me if we are late for dinner.
