Outlook 2003 Really Does Block Spam
After my main computer suffered a horrendous crash in October I was finally able to recover the lost data on those drives. Yay. Ok, enough celebration. I installed the new 2003 Microsoft Office on the new machine and was kind of excited to check out the new Outlook. Outlook is a contact management tool that will keep all of your contacts, calendar events, tasks and of course email in one place. It is a great tool and supposedly 2003 made some big improvements, mostly with regards to combating spam. Well, I was a bit disappointed after a few hours of using it as I was still getting spam and there was not really much documentation that talked about how Outlook was supposed to block spam. Well, the next day I woke up and my inbox had about 20 messages in it, when it would normally have about 250-300 from the night before. I scrolled down and noticed the Junk Mail box had 227 messages in it! I scanned through and only found one email that I did not want in there. I right clicked on it, set the sender to be a good guy and it moved it back to my inbox. I proceeded to delete the emails en masse from my Junk Mail folder. Day three was even better, not one “good” email made it into my Junk Mail folder and my inbox is totally clean. I love it. Thank you Microsoft (I can’t believe I just said that). Outlook 2003 is something I recommend to anyone.
Did I mention the wireless sync’ing of Outlook with my Nokia 6620 whenever I walk into the house?
