Posting via the Nokia 6620 and Bluetooth

Well, I am down in Palm Desert, La Quinta actually, and I am connected to the internet via my Nokia 6620 mobile phone which is talking to my laptop via a wireless Bluetooth connection which is using Cingular Wireless’ MediaNet WAP internet package. For $24.99 a month I get unlimited internet access on my mobile phone and I can use it as an internet gateway for any computer that has a bluetooth connection, infrared port or serial/usb cable connection. It is pretty slick and while it is not the fastest connection, things like IM/ICQ and posting to blogs are plenty fast and there is really no noticeable difference. It is a much better solution to pay $25 a month for this than pay $20 a month to have a WiFi account with a national carrier that only works in specific locations. This works anywhere you have a GPRS signal (which is pretty much anywhere you have some bars on your phone). Nice.
