Velocity Spartacus PRO Wheelset – 2 Week Review
May 31st, 2005 - 5 CommentsAfter putting approximately 225 miles on the Spartacus PRO wheels, I am still in awe at how much I like them. They are still rolling true as the day they came out of the box. I have put them through some normal bumpy road riding and they have not complained one bit. The only thing that I have noticed is that the brakes fade a little more than they did with the Mavics that I had on the bike before. This may be due to the fact that the Velocity wheels are a bit narrower and I need to adjust the brake calipers a bit. But, besides that, the wheels are doing very well. And, I have been pretty good about getting out 4 days a week for the past two weeks. I will be riding up in Healdsburg and Sonoma this weekend, so there will be plenty more riding. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the Spartacus PRO wheel review. It helped my selection process immensely.
Hey, it’s been a while since your review. How have the Velocity Spartacus Pros been holding up? I’m thinking about purchasing a pair myself and your blog is the only review I could find!
Mmm…I am curious as well. Spartacus Pro is still going strong? Might buy this wheelset! Cheers, Ron
I bought these about 6 months ago, give or take, and I ride the things every day. I bomb hills with pot holes so deep you have to practically bunny hop over them and these things stay pretty darn true. I’ve only done a few minor adjustments here and there to center it a tad bit (only like twice over 6 months, and only had to turn 1 or 2 spokes a half turn or so).
They feel great – nice and steady and I feel great going down hills. They also look incredible. For the price, I’d say you can’t really beat them =].
(Oh, if I had to guess I’d have to say I’ve put at LEAST 400-500 miles on them, maybe even as much as 700.)
Used these for approximately 6 months.very similar performance and feel as my Mavics SSl for about half the price
stiff and good ride quality
