I have been fortunate enough to cycle in some of the most amazing sites in Califorina. I spent time riding in Malibu when my parents lived there after college and now I am fortunate enough to ride in the San Francisco Bay area after riding in San Diego for 14 years (well, I didn’t ride for all of them). One of the most amazing places to ride is in Sonoma County. Riding along the ocean is really great, but there is something about riding through rolling hills covered with wine grapes. It is quiet, peaceful and beautiful. I attended a wedding in Sonoma this past weekend and got a ride in on Friday. I was reminded of how special this place really is. Heading west and then north from Windsor I ended up meadering my way out to Westside Road and past one of my favorite vineyards, J. Rochioli. I pushed up further into Healdsburg and then headed back down south on Eastside Road/Old Redwood Hwy.. Returning back to Windsor, the ride was about 30 miles and it was awesome. If you get the chance make sure you ride Sonoma.
