Austin City Limits, Rita and the Jet Blue Plane
Ok, so we are slated to head out to Austin for the Austin City Limits Festival. Obviously, Rita is a major concern and now that it is a category 5 hurricane. I am not really sure what it is going to look like tomorrow and I don’t think anyone is really ready to make any kind of definitive statements regarding ACL happeing or flights in and out of Austin until we see where that beast is headed. I am learning that Austin is one of the cities that is a part of Galveston’s evacuation plan and obviously the hotels there are full from ACL goers.
In other crazy news. My mom was flying out to LA today from New York. I am sure most of you have seen that plane that landed with the front wheels sideways. Apparently, she was on that plane on the way out. For some reason, the plane aborted a landing when she was on the plane. I have no idea why they aborted the landing. But it just makes the story that much more scary when you find out that your mother was on that plane only an hour before.
So, I am not really sure if someone is trying to tell me something and that maybe going to Austin is not what I should be doing. I don’t think the pilots of America want to die any more than I do. Clearly, if it is not safe to fly into Austin, they won’t do it. So, we will see tomorrow what the deal is.
