Tito just sent me a link to a site with some Tivo Tips. The coolest being the ability to change the functionality of the “skip to hash” button (the one with the right arrow pointing to a vertical line) to act as a 30 second skip forward button. This is something that MS has put into the 2005 edition of Windows Media Center and one that Replay TV (the Rolls Royce of Tivos) has had for ages. I guess it was something that the engineers at Tivo thought was useful as well, but just didn’t make public that you could change.

Basically, if you want to change the function of this button (until you reset your Tivo),press the following button sequence:

2. Play
3. Select
4. 3
5. 0
6. Select

If you do this properly (and your Tivo is able to do this) you will hear three “bings” to confirm the change. Now when you press the skip to hash button, you will skip ahead 30 seconds in the program recording.
