Apple Sells Over 1MM Video Downloads
November 1st, 2005 - 3 CommentsUnless you live in a cave, which you may if your name is JC Metz, you have heard of the new iPod Video. The Video iPod is pretty sweet, I checked one out last week and the picture is very nice, much better than I had originally expected. Well, apparently a bunch of other people felt the same way, because Apple announced yesterday that they have reached the 1 million download mark. Shares of Apple Computer soared on the news, up almost 6%. Does this mean that people really want to watch videos on something as small as an iPod 2.5″ screen? I am not sure it does, but I think Apple did prove that if you make something cheap enough, peopel will try it. It costs $1.99 to download a video from iTunes right now. This is cheaper than Sprint Music downloads at $2.50 a pop. Is anyone out there paying attention?
