Submit Site Feeds to Yahoo! Search and Site Explorer
Yahoo! just announced that you can now submit Site Explorer feeds directly to Yahoo! just like you can with Google Sitemaps. Yahoo! supports just about anything you want to throw at them inclucing RSS 0.9, RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0, Atom 0.3, a text file with a list of URLs, each URL at the start of a new line, or a single web page. Yahoo did a good job here.
I submitted the golod.com XML sitemap that is created by the cool WordPress sitemap plugin, and Yahoo grabbed the map right away from the IP address 66.94.230.110 and user agent “Mozilla/4.05 [en]”. Right now, Yahoo! Search shows 355 pages for golod.com. The sitemap has 2141 entries. We will see how that changes, if at all.

The new yahoo service is, apparently, not very reliable. I attempted to submit my own sitemap.xml (created by the wordpress plugin), and received a “timeout” error by yahoo. Multiple attempts resulted in the same error, however the error was returned within five seconds of my hitting submit. I can pull up my copy of the file, just fine (albeit with a few seconds delay while Firefox attempts to render the XML).
Strange.

yeh man i’m facing the same problem with yahoo, however it worked fine with google and msn, but can’t with yahoo and DMOZ. dont know why?

Hmm… I’ll check it out…. The Google Sitemap works fine!
