Thanks Google for My Cool Gift
It is the season of giving, or something like that. I just answered the door and it was the FedEx man. Usually, it is some wine from one of the 10, or so, wine clubs that I belong to. But, as soon as I saw the package, I realized what it was…it was my Google Christmas, ahem, holiday gift. Yes, I still have most of my Google gifts from years past. The one I found most useful was the wool Google blanket they sent out a few years ago. That is in my Tahoe and is great for those times when “someone” needs a blanket. Last year’s Google radio was pretty cool too. But, I stopped using that after the batteries and my affinity for mono sound ran out. But, this year, Google has outdone themselves. This year Google sent out a Geek Travel Kit. That is what I am calling it. Inside, what appears to be a travel grooming kit, are many geek travel essentials. The kit includes:
- A Google logo’d 4 port USB hub - schweet
- A mini Google logo’d USB mouse (with wheel) - schweet
- A Google logo’d 64MB USB flash stick (w/neck lanyard) - schweet
- A Google logo’d USB flashlight/laptop worklight - very schweet
- Instructions (non-Google logo’d) - If you need these, send me your kit
All fit neatly in the Google embossed zippered case. I am super stoked on it. Thanks Google.

Interesting. It appears Google has a couple of different “levels” in their gifting. Darren Rowse over at problogger got a slighty different gift set.
I, of course, got nothing. But then again, I’ve had my google account nearly six months, and have yet to earn enough for my first check.
Say, Jason, if you really don’t want to keep that radio, I’ll take it off your hands. =)
