Lots of people out there looking to make it rich with domain names. While I think there is still money to be made spec’ing domain names, it is definitely not like it was back in the old days. I regsitered testyourself.com many years back to do “something” with. One day a guy offered me […]

Where oh where are the Green Hat SEOs at? I have been tired of hearing about the Black Hat SEO vs. White Hat SEO for a while now and have been planning Green Hat SEO for some time. Last night I finally made it around to registering it. Who is a Green Hat?

Well, just in case you thought that the Google + Yahoo! and MSN Search Department of Justice Subpoenas were isolated cases…Informationweek apparently found out they weren’t. Looks like they were not just going after search logs, but potentially attempting to correlate that information from ISPs and internet access providers. Sweet.
Matt Cutts pointed this out […]

Looks like Yahoo! has just announced that they updated their index this past weekend. Changes in SERPs as well as increased crawler activity by that crazy bot, Slurp, are to be expected.

I am not sure what that means really, but I always wanted to say it. I was just reading through some of my RSS feeds and noticed that the Blogger / Google people managed to delete the official Google blog and the name was then grabbed by some other user. Clearly they are on top […]

You can sign up for free and without an invitation for MSN’s new AdCenter PPC service until 6pm today. Just be sure that you don’t show up trying to use FireFox, ’cause for some reason MSN Adcenter’s login system doesn’t support it.

I am sure a few of you got this email this morning from NextStudent, a CJ affiliate for Student Consolidation Loans. I am not sure how the hell they propose to track this “new program” that they are “offering”but, it sounds like one hell of a deal for affiliates:

If you know me, then you know that I really like WordPress. It may not win any awards for the most efficient PHP out there, but it is a very easy to install and use blogging platform and CMS (Content Management System). So, today I am going to start on a series of articles […]

Ok, so yesterday my new little USB GPS receiver shows up and of course I go into full geek mode. I pulled out the IBM X20 (the best thin-client laptop platform ever made IMHO) and plugged it in. I fired up MS AutoRoute 2006 and once I configured the GPS receiver with the software […]

Life is grand when you are a geek. So, in planning out some of our travels for the honeymoon in Tuscany, I have been fortunate enough to receive advice from many different sources on places to eat and drink at. Everything from wineries to hit in Montalcino and Montepulciano to restaurants in the surrounding […]

Shoe is at it again and this time he does a great interview with ChrisR (Webmasterworld mod) about the DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act) and how it can affect publishers. A ton of great information and I think J-money hit it out of the park on his first real podcast. Check it out.

Well, if your search engine is not that good, you may as well make it look pretty. Microsoft has put a new look on their, now, default IE home page at live.com. Niall Kennedy blogged about this today and I have to say it looks pretty slick. I am a big fan of clean, […]

Jensense just put out a great write-up about Google’s forecast of smaller margins for Adsense in 2006. I am not going to try and add anything to this, you should simply go and read it for yourself. I am not sure that it is going to come as a total surprise to anyone, […]

I was listening to SEO Rockstars tonight and I had to laugh at the chat and comments about how bad MSN’s crawling ability is. Someone made the comment that MSN must use some kind of priority when choosing which sites to “deep crawl” and which ones to grab a few pages from. I […]

What is up with Webmaster Radio? I have caught a few episodes of SEO Rockstars live, but when I miss one, it takes weeks it seems, to get the show’s podcast posted. The last show up right now (March 1st) is from February 8th. I guess listening to yesterday’s show where Shoe is […]
