Google Trusted Host Followup
To follow up on my Google trusted host idea, it looks like that it is not necessary to have “at least one link pointing to your site” as it used to be, to get a website into the Google index. I launched a new subdomain on the golod.com domain that has a Wordpress blog on it. I have posted a few items on it and sure enough, it was indexed in Google soon after. For the first few days, it was only the / page, but now it is showing multiple pages and posts. Maybe they just really like me.
UPDATE 8/21/06:
Well, it looks like the big G man has a little catch can. Now the sub-domain in question is not showing any pages indexed in google or anything in their cache. Sometimes the results have been different using the cache: and site: operators. Looks like it is time to put up a link or two.

Jason,
That’s probably due to WP pinging all the notification services.
Google monitors these for fresh content.

heh, yeah I know they usually show after pinging one or two of the big boys. Just never used to be a reason to crawl and index a whole site.
