Technorati is Out to Lunch
Technorati is sitting on a great idea…and a whole lotta juice, but sometimes when I visit their site, I leave shaking my head. I just visited Technorati to see what the top tags of the day are today. At the bottom of their “What people are writing about” Tag Cloud are the terms, “Pharmacy,” “Sex,” and “Viagra.” Now I know that everyone and their mother is probably trying to maniupulate Technorati in the interest of getting more traffic, but come on. These have been at the top of the list for a long long time and I don’t think that filtering sites and submissions that use these terms and tags would be a bad thing or a hard thing to do. Seeing things like this makes we wonder why I am using the site in the first place.

Technorati has been “out to lunch” in more ways than one for quite a long time. I am working on ten months of trying to get an e-mail response from them for two seperate support requests. I re-submit them both twice a month, and have yet to get a response. heh.
Add to that the fact that many lists on Technorati do not update as they should. The service is simply being neglected. With any luck it is because Technorati is working on something much bigger and better. For some reason, however, I find that very doubtful. I think they just don’t care, anymore.
