Naming Your Convention - Case Study
Well, this is not going to be much of a case study, but I did just notice something kinda funny. Jeremy named his retreat on December 18th, the Elite Retreat. So, remembering it was coming up, I did a little reading tonight on the Shoemoney site and figured I would see how they are ranking for “Elite Retreat” on Google. Well, I had a pretty good laugh. Not because they are ranking #2 for Elite Retreat, but because Elite Retreat is also the name of a Gay hotel / holiday spot that ranks right behind them in the #3 spot. Not that this matters, but I think I would probably have chosen a different name if I were them and I had seen this before. At the very least, it is distracting…especially if they are planning on branding this thing and holding it annually. Of course, I don’t have my own retreat, and I live in the gay bay. So, I guess I should probably just shut up and enjoy my trip to Vegas that weekend.
