Playa del Carmen, Superbowl and Jesus

February 5th, 2007 - One Comment

I know you are all excited. I am back from Gareth and Cortney’s wedding in Mexico (Playa del Carmen to be exact) and I want to say a big “congrats” to the beautiful couple. Pictures will be coming shortly and you can probably see some of them in the Flickr deal to the left.

I also wanted to comment on that game yesterday….what a bunch of junk. First of all, how about that Chicago offense? Geez, I know Rex Grossman is not very good, but he did make it to the show…so you have to give him a little respect. But, what the hell were those two passes in the 4th quarter? Unreal. Also, thanks to Randy for having us over on his “non-hi-def” hi def Samsung…and the Chicago deep dish he flew in.

FYI, if you have never been to Tulum, Mexico, then you need to get down there. It is where the Maya nation was headquartered and it is home to the most amazing beaches I have ever stepped foot on. Plus, as a bonus, you can have some of the best pizza I have ever had (anywhere) at Zama’s. Strange as it may seem, the pizza there is unreal. Maybe it was the questionable food I was eating for the 5 or so days before, but it sure as hell tasted great. Seriously, Tulum is an amazing place and one that will hopefully not suffer as many “destinations” in Mexico have with the Disneylandification that Mexico and Fonatur are so good at. Maybe the fact that it is surrounded by national parks will keep that from happening. More on this later.

Ahh, see I knew there was a third item. I have updated the title of this post to reflect the third item I almost forgot about…Jesus. Yes, apparently he was responsible for the Colts win on Sunday. It didn’t have anything to do with Rex Grossman and the Bears’ inability to score points. They did it the lord’s way according to the team owner and Mr. Dungee. Good to know as I may need to look Jesus up next time I need to get something done. FYI, I am not a Jesus hater, I just don’t think that talk has any place in public talk like that. Just how I roll.

Hey there, we’re doing research for an article on weddings for our Playa del Carmen website. Where did you stay and what were your thoughts on Playa?

FYI – I’m from Chicago. The superbowl sucked. Hard.
