Wait, That is a Miata?
Ok, so I was really happy to hear that Stacey David was back on television after leaving one of my all time favorite shows, Trucks! If there was ever a real life McGuyver, Stacey David is him. This guy can fabricate anything and have a good time doing it. Danielle used to sigh out loud and mumble something about trucks when it was on. I think her migraine problem got worse when I discovered his new show on ESPN, Gearz. Yes, you now know that I am a bigger dork than you once thought.
If you are like me then you think that Carroll Shelby is the man. Anyone who decides to stuff a V8 into what was the Mazda Miata of the day in England, is a legend in my book. What most people who love the 289 and 427 cobra cars don’t realize is that the AC Ace was pretty much a chick car in England. Lean on power and a drop top. So, why am I babbling about all of this? Well, on of San Diego’s own has decided to carry on the tradition of stuffing a Ford V8 (small block) into a tiny convertible. The result? The Monster Miata. That’s right. I said Miata homey. Sub-5 second 0-60mph and 12 second quarter mile times with a stock 5.0 HO engine from a fuel injected fox-bodied ’stang. The only problem is that it is still a Miata, but I think I can get over that if it can pull 12 second ET’s on the street.
