Online Collaboration Tools

November 4th, 2009 - 3 Comments

We have been researching a number of online collaboration tools to try and take Danielle’s business to the next level. I just came across a great list of online collaboration tools at Mission to Learn. There are about 4 that I am looking at now…most allow you to have multiple participants, use video and IM/chat as well as upload files. One even allows you to record the whole session for playback at a later time. That is pretty cool if you are being tutored…you can log in and replay your session at a later date if there is something you don’t quite remember.

UPDATE 1:

Microsoft Live Mesh -> VERY COOL. Sync files between multiple computers (PC or Mac), upload content to your “mesh” from your mobile device, Remote Desktop to one of your computers via the Mesh, set access permissions on a folder basis (multiple students, each with their own folder that syncs with a folder on their home computer….cool).

  1. Jason,

Another one you may want to check out it Pixetell a visual communications app that combines voice, video, images, attachments… has editing capabilities and can be shared via any medium, embedded in documents, software among other possibilities. See Pixetell about what’s new with the technology here http://pixetell.com/p0014OLW. Also, see how one company is using it for Help files in its software http://pixetell.com/p0014PIS.

    Best,

Have you tried out Injoos Teamware. I would reckon that they have the most comprehensive integrated collaboration platform. With their latest release they have added a new twist to track and execute projects “the social way”. Checkout their Blog http://injoos.com/blog/2009/10/09/seamless-collaboration-with-release-35/
