Google Updates – Are We Back on the 30 Day Cycle?

Are we back on the Google 30-day plan? Seems to me that Google has been doing a much better job of updating their index in the past month-and-a-half. I am almost constantly seeing some kind of change in toolbar PageRank somewhere in our network as well as major updates in page counts for individual sites. The interesting thing is that they do not all occur simultaneously. I noticed a couple of days ago that a site that was PR5 last week with over 1.8M pages in the Google index is now a PR4 with “only” 50k pages in the index. Why? Let’s just say that about 3 weeks ago, I decided to put an outbound link on every page of the site. So, that leads me to my next question. Is google getting better at detecting what they see as paid links or link network links (ala the DP Coop)? This is going to take a little more ivestigation. Going to be tough to do that though when I am getting married in less than 30 days.
