Nokia 616 Bluetooth Car Kit

As many of you know, I just purchased a Nokia 6620 smartphone mainly because of it’s bluetooth capabilities. One of the first add-ons I will be purchasing for our cars is a bluetooth handsfree car kit so that there will be no need to hold the phone to our ears when in the car. The bluetooth car kits by Nokia and Motorola are pretty slick. Most of them support multiple phones so that other family members or people who use a particular vehicle can be automatically recognized by the car kit when they enter the vehicle. After the initial setup, the car kit will recognize your phone every time it gets within range. But, the new kits like the Nokia 616 bluetooth car kit integrate the latest in voice recognition. I have seen a video of the new Motorola bluetooth car kit and it is able to recognize any english speaking voice (does not have to be trained by your voice) at a regular speech pace. It was pretty amazing to see how well the system understood the voice commands and then took the appropriate action. The Nokia 616 is due to be out the first quarter of 2005, which will be over soon. So, Nokia where is the 616 car kit already?

      I recently purchased the Nokia N93-1 in Stockholm, Sweden, and would like to know if you received and installed the Nokia 616 Bluetooth Hands-free Car Kit that you’ve referred to above, and if you like the Nokia 616 H/F C/K?

      Is so, please let me know as I intend to purchase this kit tomorrow morning. It sounds like the proverbial “Cat’s Meow” of H/F C/K’s.

      Sam, I did not purhcase the 616. I did just purchase the Parrot CK3400 LS-GPS. A much more feature rich handsfree kit. I am going to be installing it this weekend. I would probably recommend one of these units or a Motorola IHF 1000 over the Nokia 616.

      Bletooth headset for cars is always good to have. Will benefit those who travel alot like me.
