UPDATE June 12, 2006
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who made our wedding the best wedding ever. I am still amazed at how perfectly everything went on our big day and that is a testament to the abilities and planning of Danielle and Cameron as well as Mary Noble, our wedding coordinator. We are back from Italy, unfortunately, and are adjusting back to the 9 hour time change slowly…as well as the different eating styles. We had the best time at the wedding and are so happy that all of you were able to make it there in body and in spirit. We love you all and hope to catch up with you soon. UPDATE 4/26/06

Just wanted to put a note here that the rehersal dinner is limited to family. We have had some inquiries about people being invited to the rehersal dinner and if you received an invitation to the rehersal dinner (a separate invitation that went out last week), then you are invited. There is a lot of family and not a lot of space where we will be having the rehersal dinner. If you have any questions, shoot me an email.

UPDATE 4/15/06:

Happy tax day. We are just about one month away from the big day. Wanted to update the page here with a few items.

Rooms: Rooms at the Morgan Run Resort are still available, but at a slightly higher rate than found below. The early bird gets the worm, or something like that. This is the closest hotel and has its own golf course on site. The Del Mar Hilton is also a great option as well.

Registry: Thanks for all of the incredible gifts from everyone. We are truly overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity.

We are looking forward to seeing all of you very soon in sunny San Diego.

UPDATE 2/20/06:

• It has just come to our attention that the weekend of the wedding is also a big graduation weekend for some of the schools in San Diego. So, please be sure to book your flights ASAP if you are planning on making it to the best wedding of your life.
• Morgan Run still has rooms available and we think this is the best place to stay as it is very close, has their own golf course and has nice rooms.

• The hotel is very small (53 rooms) and we have booked the entire hotel. Currently, it is full as we have family and close family friends and wedding participants staying there. See below for recommended local accomodations.

Information on the Rancho Valencia Hotel

From the hotel’s website:

Rancho Valencia is located in Rancho Santa Fe which is in the hills above Del Mar (Del Mar is on the ocean).

Recommended Accomodations

Rancho Santa Fe is a small community and has a small number of hotels to stay in. However, it is less than a mile away from Del Mar, one of the most famous beach communities in the country. There are two hotels that we have blocked rooms at in Rancho Santa Fe and one in Del Mar that is just down the road a bit. If you choose to stay at one of these hotels, you can tell them that you are part of the Bianchi / Golod wedding. Note: there will be a few people invited to this shin-dig, and rooms in Del Mar are always scarce, advanced planning and booking is recommended.

Morgan Run

Morgan Run is located just around the corner in Rancho Santa Fe. The hotel is on a public/private golf course (for those of you that like to play golf, San Diego has tons of amazing public courses in every price range…including Torrey Pines). We have blocked some of the 83 rooms Morgan Run has available. The rooms are very reasonable for the area and start at $139/night. If you are planning on going to the wedding and you get on this early, this is a great option for those that want a nice place that is close to the festivities.

The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe

If you want to experience Rancho Santa Fe, then this is the place to do it. The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is a very small Inn located in the heart of “downtown” Rancho Santa Fe. Surrounded by trees, rolling hills, small shops and restaurants, the Inn is about 2 miles (straight shot) from Rancho Valencia. This is a quiet place to enjoy the beauty of Rancho Santa Fe and be close to the wedding. Rooms at the Inn start at $230 and we have some set aside under the Bianchi / Golod wedding.

Del Mar Hilton

The Del Mar Hilton is located about a mile or so from the Rancho Valencia Resort in Del Mar. The hotel is located close to the 5 freeway, Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe. Rooms start at $139 a night and we have blocked rooms for the Bianchi / Golod wedding. This is a good option for those looking for a bigger hotel that is closer to more activities, shopping and the beach (that is if you don’t like tennis and golf). Del Mar is a great place to walk on the beach, shop or enjoy your coffee or breakfast at an outdoor cafe.

NOTE: there are a number of other hotels located in Del Mar that are farther away from Rancho Valencia. We picked the Hilton because of its proximity to the wedding location, rooms, amenities and cost.
